iChurch Church Content License Terms
Last updated: September 28, 2026
In case of discrepancy, the Traditional Chinese version prevails. This English text is a courtesy translation of the Traditional Chinese terms.
Summary
- The church or the original rights holder keeps the rights in the original material.
- iChurch receives a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it, not a transfer of copyright.
- Material is used only to introduce the church, list events and promote iChurch's church information.
- A church can ask through iChurch LINE at any time to update, change or remove its information and material.
1. Scope
These terms apply to all church information and content that a church gives iChurch through the iChurch LINE official account, email or any other channel iChurch designates, including:
- Basic church details: name, address, phone, official website, official social pages, service times and so on
- Church introduction, directions, parking and accessibility information, and gatherings for different age groups
- Event information: name, date, place, description and how to register
- Church logos, photos, event posters, videos and other audio-visual material
Together these are called "Church Content" below.
2. Who may submit
The person who provides Church Content should be a staff member or leader of that church, or someone the church has authorized to provide information on its behalf.
When a church is claimed for the first time, iChurch carries out a simple identity check. After the check, content provided by that LINE account is treated as provided on behalf of the church. If staff change or someone no longer represents the church, please tell iChurch so that we can update it.
3. Non-exclusive, royalty-free license
By giving Church Content to iChurch, the church agrees to grant iChurch a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it within the scope described in these terms.
- Non-exclusive: the church remains free to give the same content to others or use it itself, without restriction.
- Royalty-free: iChurch does not charge churches to be listed and does not pay a license fee.
4. Copyright is not transferred
The church or the original rights holder keeps the rights in the original material. iChurch receives a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it, not an assignment of copyright.
iChurch does not claim to own the copyright in Church Content, does not sell Church Content, and does not license it to third parties for purposes unrelated to iChurch.
5. Platforms where iChurch may use it
Church Content may be used on the following platforms operated by iChurch:
- The iChurch website (ichurch.tw) and its pages, such as church pages, event pages, articles and features
- iChurch's official social accounts, such as Facebook, Instagram, Threads and the LINE official account
- iChurch newsletters and recommendations within the site
6. Website and social media listings
Church Content is used mainly to introduce churches, list church events and help people looking for a church get to know it. iChurch may use it when sharing an event, introducing a church or promoting iChurch services, and will show the church's name wherever it can.
Whether something is published, where and when are decided by iChurch based on how complete the content is and how the site is arranged. iChurch does not promise to publish everything it receives.
7. Cropping, resizing, compression and format changes
To suit the website and social media, iChurch may make necessary changes to images and video, such as:
- Cropping, scaling and changing size or ratio
- Compressing files and converting formats (for example to WebP)
- Adding layout, headline text or event information
These changes are made only for presentation. They are not meant to change the meaning of the original, and iChurch will not add content that distorts or disparages the church.
8. AI and automated help with organizing content
iChurch may use AI or automated tools to help extract event details from text, posters or photos a church provides, put them into the site's format, correct typing mistakes or write a short summary.
Content organized this way is confirmed by iChurch before it is published. iChurch does not use Church Content to train or develop AI models for sale to others.
9. Responsibility for third-party material
If material was made by a photographer, design company, illustrator or other third party, the church should first confirm that its license allows iChurch to publish it.
When providing material, the church should confirm that it is owned by the church, made by the church, or cleared for public publication. If a dispute arises because the license for material was insufficient, iChurch will remove the content as soon as it is notified and ask the church to help resolve it.
10. Photos of people
If a photo clearly shows identifiable people, the church should first confirm it is suitable for public use, for example that the people were told the photo might be published, or that it is an ordinary record of a public gathering.
If someone in a photo wants it not to be public, they can ask the church, or contact iChurch directly, to have it removed.
11. Photos of minors
Please take special care with photos of children and teenagers. We recommend:
- Prefer photos taken from behind, from a distance, or where individuals are hard to identify
- If you need a photo where a face is recognizable, get the consent of a parent or legal guardian first
- Do not give a minor's full name, school or other identifying information in a caption
When iChurch receives a request from a parent or the church, we will give priority to removing photos of minors.
12. Later event submissions
After a church is claimed, events, photos, service changes and other content it later sends through iChurch LINE are covered by these terms too, and no fresh agreement is needed each time.
13. Accuracy of information
Please provide information that is as accurate and current as possible. iChurch checks that it is complete and reasonable and, where needed, contacts the church, but cannot guarantee that everything always matches the church's actual situation.
If service times or event details change, please tell us through iChurch LINE so that we can update them.
14. How to change or remove content
A church can ask through iChurch LINE at any time to:
- Update or correct its information
- Replace a logo, photo or other material
- Remove a particular photo, poster, event or church introduction
After receiving a request, iChurch will handle it on the website as soon as it can. For content already posted on social platforms, iChurch will try to delete or hide it, but content that others have shared or reposted, or that search engines have cached, may not be fully removable.
15. Duration of the license
The license starts when the church provides the content and lasts until the church asks for it to be removed or iChurch stops using it.
After a removal request, iChurch stops using the content on the website. Records kept briefly to resolve disputes or for backups are not used publicly.
16. Changes to these terms
iChurch may update these terms when its services or the law change. Updates are posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. For major changes iChurch will also explain through the website or the LINE official account.
