iChurch Privacy Policy and Personal Data Notice
Last updated: September 28, 2026
In case of discrepancy, the Traditional Chinese version prevails. This English text is a courtesy translation of the Traditional Chinese policy.
Summary
- We collect only the minimum data needed to confirm, contact and list a church.
- Private LINE IDs, private email addresses and private mobile numbers are not shown publicly because a church was claimed.
- Only details that a church designates as "official public contact information" are published.
- You can ask to access, correct, stop the use of or delete your personal data at any time.
iChurch is operated by Yisheng Technology Software Co., Ltd. (益盛科技軟體有限公司), the collector of personal data under this policy ("we"). We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains, in line with Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act, how we collect, process, use and protect personal data, and it also serves as the notice we give when collecting it.
1. Scope
This policy applies to personal data involved when you use the iChurch website (ichurch.tw) and the iChurch LINE official account, and when you claim a church, update information, submit events or contact us through these channels.
Other sites linked from iChurch (for example church websites, social platforms and the Directory of Chinese Churches) have their own privacy policies, which this policy does not cover.
2. Personal data we may collect
Depending on the service you use, we may collect:
- Identifiers: your name, LINE display name and LINE user ID
- Contact details: email address, phone number
- Role: your position at a church or your relationship to it
- Content you choose to send: messages, photos, posters and other files
- Website usage: pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate region (statistics)
3. Church claim information
When church staff claim a church for the first time, we ask for your name, your relationship to the church and a way to verify it (for example the church's official email, official phone number, official website or official social page). This information is used only to confirm your link to the church and to prevent people outside the church from changing its listing.
4. LINE identifiers
When you add the iChurch LINE official account and send a message, LINE gives us your display name, profile picture and user ID. We use these to recognize accounts that have completed a claim and to contact you. We cannot see your LINE friends list or your conversations with other people.
5. Name, email, phone and role
The name, email, phone number and role you give us are used to confirm your identity, reply to your messages and contact you when information needs checking. They are not published unless you clearly say they are the church's official public contact details.
6. Purposes of collection
We collect personal data for the following purposes:
- Church claims and identity checks
- Preparing, publishing and updating church and event information
- Answering inquiries and telling you the result of your request
- Operating and securing the website, and analyzing usage statistics
We do not use personal data for any other purpose, and we do not sell it.
7. Public church information versus private contact details
iChurch keeps two kinds of information strictly apart.
Public "official contact information"
Only the following items, when a church designates them as official public contact information, appear on public iChurch pages:
- The church phone number
- The church's official email
- The church's official website
- The church's official social pages
Private contact details that stay private
A staff member's private LINE ID, private email and private mobile number, as well as the name and role provided during a claim, are not shown on any public page because a church was claimed. They are used only by iChurch internally for verification and contact.
8. Retention period
We keep and use your personal data while you continue to use iChurch services or remain a church's claim contact. After you ask us to delete it, stop representing the church or the purpose of collection ends, we delete it or stop using it. We keep data for as long as the law requires, or as needed to resolve a dispute.
9. Where data is used
Personal data is used mainly in Taiwan. Because of how the website hosting, the LINE official account and cloud services operate, data may be stored on or transferred to servers run by service providers in other countries or regions.
10. Who may use the data
Personal data is used only by iChurch and by service providers that help us operate (for example website hosting, LINE, cloud services and analytics tools), and only as far as needed to provide the service. We do not give personal data to other third parties unless the law requires it or you agree.
11. The LINE official account
iChurch contacts church staff through its LINE official account. How the LINE platform itself handles your data is governed by LINE's privacy policy. You can block or delete the iChurch LINE account at any time. If you are a church's claim contact, please tell us first so that we can update the church's contact person.
12. AI and automated processing
We may use AI or automated tools to help organize event information, poster text or church details you send. These tools are used only to organize content. They are not used to make automated decisions about you that have legal effect, and claims and publishing are still confirmed by iChurch.
We try to avoid sending unnecessary personal data into automated tools, and we choose service settings that do not train models on user data.
13. Cookies and website analytics
The iChurch website uses analytics tools such as Google Analytics, with cookies, to understand how the site is used, for example pages viewed, time spent and device type, so that we can improve content and experience. These statistics are not used to identify a particular person.
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. This does not affect your use of the iChurch website.
14. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, such as limiting who can access it, using encrypted connections (HTTPS) and managing account permissions carefully. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure. If a data breach occurs, we will notify the people affected as the law requires.
15. Your rights to access, correct, stop use and delete
Under Article 3 of Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act, you may ask us to:
- Let you inquire about or review your data
- Provide a copy
- Supplement or correct it
- Stop collecting, processing or using it
- Delete it
Please contact us through the iChurch LINE account or by email. To protect your data, we may confirm your identity before we act.
16. What happens if you do not provide data
You are free to choose whether to provide personal data. Browsing the iChurch website does not require any. If you do not provide what a church claim needs, we may not be able to confirm your link to the church, and so cannot help you update the listing through LINE.
17. Minors
The claim and update service is for adult church staff. If a minor needs to provide data, a parent or legal guardian should agree. For photos of minors that a church provides, see the section on minors' photos in the Church Content License Terms.
18. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. Updates are posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. For major changes we will also explain through the website or the LINE official account.
